A nice place with an internal garden. Food is ok but overpriced for what you get. Service could be improved

We returned a second time to this restaurant in Nardò, slightly outside the centre. It has both seats inside and on a pleasant outdoor patio. This time too, excellent dishes, both first courses and mixed frying. Few desserts, but good and made by them. Good wine list. Quality raw materials and extreme kindness and professionalism of those who welcomed us, served us and advised us. Added to all this is a discount with The Fork which makes the quality/price ratio excellent. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area.
We discovered the restaurant through the fork. Discount applied regularly but personally I think the menu prices are quite high for the quality of the products offered. Furthermore, I don't like water that isn't sealed but is served in filled bottles, among other things at a cost that in my opinion is high, as is the cover charge. Cold environment considering the autumn evening, air conditioning was probably not yet installed. I didn't like the fish carpaccio because only the lemon flavor prevailed, the grilled fish had a bitter taste, probably deriving from the griddle or grill used. Kindness and helpfulness in service. It could be done much better
Once we arrived we were led to believe that the restaurant was on the outskirts: we later realized that it was close to the restricted traffic zone and therefore it is one of the closest restaurants to the center of Nardo that can be reached by car. The center is a 5 minute walk away and is worth a visit. We had two first courses (orecchiette turnip greens and paccheri with prawn ragout): both excellent. Then we had some fried food from the Ionian Sea: that was also good and fried well even if a little expensive (20 euros): in P. Cesareo I saw postings facing the sea with fried food for 14-16 euros. With a 3 euro cover charge we would have expected, for example, an entree (e.g. crouton with marinated sardar) or a mini-glass of sorbet (which wasn't even available). The fish...good...fresh...nothing to say, but it could give an extra price.
Three of us had dinner, enjoying as a starter an excellent plate of raw oysters and shellfish and a generous and tasty seafood salad.
For the second course we opted for a sea bream and a sea bass from Santa Maria al Bagno, very fresh and well cooked. Welcoming and young atmosphere, attentive service
Very nice place, welcoming and clean. We ate very well.
Burratina as an appetizer absolutely worth trying, genuine and truly fresh flavours. I don't have a photo of the orecchiette but they were my favorite. The prawn gnocco has a top presentation, very good, spectacular sauce, the only advice is to work on the gnocco dough. Very good frying, I would add a pinch of salt.
Very very friendly staff, at the end we were offered four house bitters (to try). The dishes overall are plentiful.
As for prices, they are also slightly below average
If I could I would go back, I recommend it.
Welcoming environment and smiling, friendly staff. Lorenzo, the boy who served us, immediately made us feel at ease, recommending the dishes to us, then Daniele, the chef, prepared me a dessert made directly by him which consists of pear puff pastry, vanilla ice cream and honey: a deliciousness! Rarely have I tasted something more exquisite in my life. Absolutely recommended. Excellent food from starters to main courses and everything prepared with great care. Go there, you won't regret it. Me, my wife and my father-in-law really enjoyed it! Congratulations guys, great team!
